Gilbert & Bacon Cabinet Card from 1880’s

This famous Philadelphia studio was known for their great portraits of theatrical celebrities and artists in the late 1800’s.

This portrait restoration is of my 2nd Great Grandmother, Margeret Ivins, she and her husband (James Liberty Tadd - the young chap in the 1860’s photo) were well know art instructors at the time.

After a restoration like this, a variety of sepia tones can be added back in to give a more vintage vibe or fully colorized to see how an ancestor might look today.

The original was in good condition. This type restoration is not too time consuming and yields good results.

Tremendous detail was retrieved during the restoration yielding a fantastic photo.
