Pre-digital Age Color Photo Prints are Decaying

Color prints can decay over time due to a variety of factors, including environmental conditions, exposure to light, and chemical reactions within the print materials.

Some color photographs may appear irreparable but with modern restoration techniques an amazing amount of detail can be retrieved from these damaged prints. Below is a photo restored from 1953.
